Portrait of Creators

WE'RE MAKING A LIST

HELP US WITH OUR MISSION TO LOCATE 100 WEST POINT CREATORS

Our sleeves are rolled-up, gas tank is full, cameras are poised and we've got approximately 147 questions queued-up. Our mission is simple. We want to meet, photograph and interview the creators, the innovators, the artists, the trendsetters, and the pathfinders within the ranks of the Long Gray Line.

The list is growing, but we could use your help: Do you know a West Point creator?

Whether the creation is a full-time endeavor, a part-time project, or you fancy yourself an amateur or enthusiast, we want to learn about the creative energy that gets you out of bed in the morning, keeps you up at night, and how you turn your daydreams into reality. We want to know about West Point's creators and their version of the American Dream.

We're on our owN journey to the heart of the American Dream - we're convinced that a path to it RUNS right through West Point. And we want to share the evidence with you.

Click the buttons below to add a name to the list. Cadet or Old Grad alike, we want to know about them. We're looking for cadets/grads who are living an inspired life, who are creating the life they want, their way.

More About the Project

MISSION: West Point 100: Portrait of Creators is an independent project by USMA graduates Chris Pestel + Caroline Taft.

Both a creative project and an insightful ethnography, West Point 100 will curate a collection of 100 West Point creators. Each creator is, often in unexpected ways, defining culture and driving industry across their town, region, country and/or the world. You may recognize some names/faces, others you may have heard in passing, while others still may have been unknown to you until now. What’s common among them is that they are all leaders, innovators, trendsetters, pathfinders and most importantly are all members of the strongest brotherhood + sisterhood in the nation - The Long Gray Line.

VISION: With this project, Chris + Caroline will carve out, perhaps, the first ever visual snapshot of West Point culture through the Long Gray Line's creators and creations. Individually, the images + words will introduce you to 100 Old Grads/cadets. Collectively, this portrait will tell a fascinating, interwoven story about an often under appreciated and overlooked skill set developed during the 47-month journey…the creative process.

Beyond the photos, there will be commentary and musings by the subjects on the topics of art, food, community, culture, and film. Additionally, each of the subjects will share some of their favorite people, places, and things that they have explored, discovered, and rediscovered.

Do you have an idea of how you can contribute to the West Point 100? We are all ears. CADET was born out of collaboration and we'd love to hear your thoughts, comments and feedback. Click the button below to shoot us a message.
