DRAFTED & THE SEEDS OF THE FIELDS OF FRIENDLY STRIFE
What is Mr. Irrelevant? Who is Mr. Irrelevant? In spring of 1997 MR. IRRELEVANT was Army Football’s Ronnie McAda. SPOILER: It was Ronnie McAda’s photo in Sports Illustrated that put Army Football on my radar.
This year Army Football had high hopes of making a splash during the annual NFL Draft. While no Army Football players were drafted, COLE CHRISTIANSEN, ELI RILEY and CONNOR SLOMKA were immediately signed as undrafted free-agents. (by the Chargers, Eagles and Jaguars, respectively) following the 7 rounds (the most since 1996) giving them the opportunity not only to continuing athletic pursuits at the highest level but also the unique ability to bring awareness of West Point to one of the world’s biggest megaphone - the NFL.THE ART OF…

THE ART OF COOL
Last week we put out a poll/query on INSTAGRAM & FACEBOOK. We wanted to know your thoughts on a great debate: The Gray (purple) Jacket or the current Black Jacket. Which was objectively better? Then as the week progressed we came across THIS PHOTO FROM USMA1969 and that put an end to the debate for good.

CONTRIBUTE TO VOL V
And lastly, we need your help. Actually, VOL V of CADET needs your help. Just like you and your profession, the current state of things has had and will to continue to have an effect on our operation. We are currently operating as close as we can to “business-as-usual” but several of our upcoming photo projects won’t be happening or were postponed until the fall. So, we have some openings for content in VOL V.
Do you want to contribute? Do you have something to say? A photo series or a single photo you think fits in line with our effort to highlight the intersection of West Point culture and art? A poem or some art? Submissions for VOL V are open now until May 15th, 2020. Drop us a note and let’s see if we can collaborate to make VOL V our best effort yet.
